During May 2014 sampling activities of water and sediment for the goals of port baseline survey will be carried out in the Italian ports of Ancona (1st week), Venice (2nd week), Trieste (3rd week) and Bari (4th week). This will be the first BALMAS sampling in the port of Trieste and the first complete sampling for waters and sediments monitoring.
This intensive meeting is yet another opportunity for all partners to meet and exchange knowledge and ideas. We will dedicate our time to workshops where port baseline surveys, early warning system and ballast water management, sampling tools and approaches will be highlighted in the first half of the meeting.
We have updated and presented the new and improved home page! We have carefully selected colours that would still be representative to the balmas topic, i.e. the sea. Also, we have designed the homepage in such way that it would be attractive to look at and hopefully external visitors will see the balmas.eu homepage as a reference to both ballast water management, sampling methods and harmful aquatic organisms and pathogens description.
