This will be the first BALMAS sampling in the port of Trieste and the first complete sampling for waters and sediments monitoring. Four Italian research Institutes will be involved in this activity and will cooperate for its good outcome: Institute of Marine Science (CNR-ISMAR) with its branches in Ancona, Trieste, Venice and Lesina; Italian National Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA), Roma; National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics (OGS), Trieste; Marine Research Centre Foundation (FCRM), Cesenatico

Water samples were already collected in March (17-29/2014) (Pictures 1 and 2) in the other Italian ports (R/V Dallaporta), during the first Italian oceanographic cruise for BALMAS project. Institutes involved were: Institute of Marine Science (CNR-ISMAR) with its branches in Ancona, Trieste, Venice and Lesina; Marine Research Centre Foundation (FCRM), Cesenatico.
